In Islamic tradition, fidya is paid in cases where a person is unable to fast due to illness, travel, or other valid reasons, or when a person breaks their fast intentionally or unintentionally. The amount of fidya paid varies, but it is typically eqivalent to the cost of feeding a poor person for one day and is paid in the form of food or money to the poor and needy.

How Much is Fidya?

£5 per day, per person

  • £5 feeds one needy person for one missed fast
  • £150 covers 30 days of Ramadan
