Medical bills and basics
A Bosnian mother and her family are living in devastating conditions in Tunisia, trapped by poverty.
They have restricted access to water and electricity, and often struggle to obtain even basic food.
Their mattresses are infested with bedbugs, leaving the children constantly covered in painful bites. The family cannot afford adequate food, medicine, clothing or school supplies.
The mother suffers from severe PTSD, depression, anxiety and panic attacks and is receiving psychiatric treatment. Her children also face significant challenges, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and mental-health difficulties.
Their hardship has lasted for years. During the war, the motherβs husband was deported to Tunisia and imprisoned for ten years. After his release, the family was left stranded without secure legal status, preventing him from working legally and providing for them.
One of their daughters works for only Β£3 a day. Most days, the family survives on lentils and beans. They can afford meat just two or three times a year. In 15 years, they have been able to visit their relatives in Bosnia only once.
π Their most urgent need is medical bills for the mother.
We are raising funds to provide financial help and other essential support, helping the mother get medical tests done and find out what she's suffering from.
They are not asking for luxury.
They are asking for basics, safety and dignity.
