🚨 URGENT APPEAL — PLEASE HELP THIS FAMILY SURVIVE THE EXTREME HEAT 🚨
A Bosnian sister and her family are living in devastating conditions in Tunisia, trapped in poverty, illness and unbearable heat.
They live in a small makeshift shed on a rooftop, and the country is on fire with 47°C this summer. There is little protection from the sun, electricity and water are restricted, and even basic food is often unavailable or rationed.
Their mattresses are infested with bed bugs. The children are constantly covered in bites. They struggle to afford food, medicine, clothing and school supplies.
The mother suffers from severe PTSD, depression, anxiety and panic attacks and is receiving psychiatric treatment. Her children are also facing serious challenges, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and mental-health difficulties.
The family has endured years of hardship. During the war, her husband was deported to Tunisia and imprisoned for 10 years. After his release, they were left stranded without secure legal status, leaving him unable to work legally and provide for his family.
One daughter works for just £3 a day.
Most days, they survive on lentils and beans.
They can afford meat only two or three times a year.
In 15 years, they have only been able to visit their family in Bosnia once.
💔 Right now, their most urgent need is relief from the extreme heat.
We are raising money to provide air conditioning and essential support to help this family through the dangerous heat that continues into September and October.
For many of us, air conditioning is a convenience.
For this family, it is relief from conditions that are becoming unbearable.
Please imagine your own children trying to sleep in 47°C heat, on infested mattresses, hungry and exhausted, with nowhere else to go.
They are not asking for luxury.
They are asking for basic comfort, safety and dignity.
