Help a Sri Lankan revert sister seeking asylum who has been left without status, no financial support and is still living in a shed

Story

Our Sri Lankan revert sister came to this country on her husband’s student visa. When her husband later received his visa status, she discovered that he had never applied for hers. Instead, she was subjected to years of domestic violence, including financial abuse, despite working two jobs and handing over all of her income.

Eight years ago he divorced her, leaving her completely alone, homeless and without any financial support. Without valid visa status she was unable to continue working and quickly became unemployable.

For a period of time she was forced to sleep on the streets, having nowhere at all to go, until a kind person allowed her to stay in a small shed. This is where she continues to live today.

Our sister has endured immense hardship from a very young age. She is also suffering from serious health issues and is now in desperate need of support.

We are appealing for your help to assist her with food, basic necessities, and the legal costs required for her Home Office case so that she may finally have the chance to rebuild her life with dignity and security.

Your support can make a real difference for a sister who has already endured far more than most.
