Summary

Qurbani in Uganda

Story

As has become our tradition, we are once again organising qurbani in Uganda this year.

For many families there, meat is a luxury that is only enjoyed on Eid day. Because of this, they eagerly await Eid ul Adha each year, hoping to share in the joy and blessings of qurbani.

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:

“So pray to your Lord and sacrifice ˹to Him alone˺.”
— Surah Al-Kawthar (108:2)

Qurbani is a sacred act of worship and a powerful reminder of the devotion and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام. It is an opportunity to earn immense reward while bringing happiness, nourishment and relief to struggling families.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of sacrifice than the sacrificing of animals.”
— Tirmidhi

He ﷺ also said:

“For every hair of the qurbani, you receive a reward from Allah.”
— Tirmidhi

Qurbani Costs

  • Cow: £600 total
(7 shares available at £86 per share)
  • Sheep: £100 each

Your qurbani will help provide fresh meat to poor and needy families across Uganda during the days of Eid, many of whom rarely have the opportunity to eat meat throughout the year.

Important Notice

In order to secure these prices and allow enough time to:

  • purchase the animals,
  • arrange the butchers,
  • and organise the zabihah,

this appeal will remain open for one week only.

After this period, prices are expected to rise substantially as Eid approaches, and can often double closer to Eid ul Adha.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship of this world, Allah will relieve for him a hardship from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.”
— Sahih Muslim

Please donate generously and share this appeal with family and friends so together we can help make Eid a day of joy for those in need.
