Summary

Our brother in Egypt urgently needs dialysis and his wife urgently needs life saving blood transfusion and several operations

Story

Egyptian brother who married a Bosnian sister during the war. They have 5 children. Upon their return to Egypt they were forcefully separated for several years, and the husband has been left disabled. In the meantime, his wife and children have lived on handouts and became severely malnourished.

The wife suffers from multiple chronic illnesses due to the struggles and sufferings she endured too. To name a few, she had cholera with severe constant diarrhea which left her loosing all weight and dropping to skin and bones, destroying her blood, leaving her extremely weak with constant fainting episodes. As a result her heart is beating 130 per minute, she's constantly out of breath and suffocating. On top of it all she's been suffering with severe hemorrhoids all this time. She's had an eye operation a few years back, and now in her other eye she has nearly lost eye sight and it's extremely painful and causing her severe migraines. Naturally she has one leg shorter and during her last labour, her hip and back were severely damaged and they have been progressively getting worse and painful to the point that she can hardly drag her body across the room now. Her life hangs in balance as she's already received three blood transfusions and there has been no improvement in her health what so ever and her family is fearful that this Ramadan can be her last.

She desperately needs to be admitted into hospital for further check ups and investigations and operations on her eye and hemorrhoids which she hasn't been able to afford.

When her husband suffered a heart attack a few years ago, we collected funds for him to have an open heart surgery, which saved his life. He is also diabetic, has high blood pressure, arthritis in his knees and recently his kidneys failed. He is very ill, weak, and frail, and he urgently needs dialysis every 2-3 days. All of this has made his blood very weak and he too needs blood transfusion. And with all of this he is still working and trying to provide for his family. Jobs are hard to come by in Egypt, so he is travelling to Sahara Desert 4 hours each direction to earn a wage that is not even enough to feed their children. They only eat meat from Eid to Eid.

In June 2021 we helped to save lives of their son Hamza when his appendix raptured and all his blood got infected and their daughter Sumayyah who lost so much blood and a major wound infection due to multiple complications after the C section.

At the moment their 19 year old son dropped out of Uni to work the most demeaning job for $100 a month to help support his family. His younger brother and sister are still in primary and secondary education.

They have sacrificed much even collecting donations for other many families in Egypt in the same or worse circumstances as themselves by distributing the help to them during Ramadan's scorching heat over the past few years - often risking their own lives due to the dire security situation.

Now, this family desperately needs our help again.

Let's help this family once again by saving their mother's and father's life once again and show them that they are not alone.
