Severely mentally ill sister sectioned in specialist mental health institution
Our sister has been sectioned three weeks ago.
Diagnosis: psychosis, acute schizophrenia-like psychosis, acute delusional psychosis, and acute psychotic disorders.
She has suffered many traumas during the war and her mental health has been suffering ever since. Recently she's been experiencing hallucinations (including apprehension, confusion and perceptual disturbances), delusions, disorganized or strange speech, agitation and bizarre behaviour, extreme and changing emotional states. She has become a danger to herself and others.
She is very poor and cannot afford to pay her hospital bills.
Her son is currently at his last year of college and will be able to work once he's finished school. In the meantime, he's desperately trying to help his mother to get better.
He has also been affected by her illness and our help will mean the world to both of them.
He needs €300 every month to pay the hospital bills for his mother until he can work inshAllah.
At the moment he's living on handouts for food.
